Reason for seeking help: my dog shows aggressive behaviour to other dogs and always lunges at people.

"I have an 8 year old Labrador cross who reacts to other dogs in an aggressive way. As a rescue dog nothing is known of his background or his early socialisation. After many years of dog training classes, training days and even doggie holidays he was much better but I still couldn't relax if we met another dog on a walk.

After seeing a demonstration of TTouch by Sarah Fisher I thought this may be another avenue to try so contacted her for my nearest practitioner. I was given Sue Gavin's number and learned how to do the touches myself for working on at home. I have learned how the TTouches can alter his behaviour and that how I deal with any situation can do the same.

He is now a lot better. I have learned to look at things from his point of view and I feel more relaxed and able to take control when on a walk.

Reason for seeking help: I was fostering a cat that was due to be put to sleep because she was unable to be handled

Rosy a rescue cat (was due to be PTS as she could not be re-homed). mistrusting of people she would urinate if anyone entered the room and would not tolerate being touched or stroked in any way.  Rosy spent all of her time hiding and would only come out to eat or use a litter tray once everyone in the house had gone to bed.  Three TTouch sessions with Sue showed me what to do to help her.  I am very happy to report that Rosy has now settled into home life and is enjoying cuddles as well as the TTouches and will now eat from my hands.

Reason for seeking help: extremely nervous and anxious bitch - would always hide behind owner when approached by people or other dogs.

I have a very nervous Golden Retriever and was keen to find a method of increasing her confidence without putting any pills into her system.   After some research I discovered the Tellington Touch and attended a demonstration with Sarah Fisher.  When she explained that all unwanted and undesirable behaviour in dogs could be addressed I contacted Sarah who put me in touch with Sue Gavin. I work with my dog at home too, and with Sue's help she is becoming more confident and able to cope with life outside the home.   It is now a pleasure to take her out, and go on holiday, without worrying about her being stressed in new situations.  If she is, I now know how to help her.

Reason for seeking help: Python with severe sinus congestion.

Dominic my python had severe problems with his sinus and constantly had to have steam baths to clear his nasal passage, however, this in turn gave him problems with his skin.  In just one TTouch session I was shown how to do some of the TTouches, which cleared his sinus, and we have not needed to give him steam baths again – his skin is now in perfect condition.

Reason for seeking help: Hamster with mobility problem with back legs and biting

Hamish came to us when he was about six months old, we think he had been ignored quite a bit or handled very roughly as he hated being handled.  He also had very little movement with his back legs.  Using TTouch on Hamish has meant that the whole family including the children are now able to handle him without fear of being bitten and his ability to move has greatly improved.

Reason for seeking help: change in behaviour since pack members illness, nervousness particularly outdoors, barking and jumping up at visitor.

We started TTouch to help Misty our Black Standard Poodle, to cope with the stress she was feeling because her best friend, Tara, our Chocolate Standard Poodle, was terminally ill with Lymphoma.  Their relationship had changed and Misty had lost her sparkle.

The TTouch sessions, and our continuing to use TTouch in between helped Misty to release the stress, and to cope far better when the time finally came to let Tara go.

Although Sue’s sessions were with Misty, she also spent time doing TTouch with Tara and showed us how to use the touches to help Tara to relax particularly during the time when she was having strong doses of Chemotherapy and in the final stages of her illness.

Testimonials for Workshops

I have been to a few TTouch workshops now, and this one achieved help for the dogs and owners, but also made me feel comfortable about asking any questions necessary.  An enjoyable and informative day.

A very good day.  Time to spend on my own dog and plenty of time for her to rest with help readily to hand if you needed it.   Sue made it clear from the beginning that the dog’s needs came first at all times.
